Flora & Fauna
Amidst the harsh desertscape, wildlife subsists in its most intricate form, using coping mechanisms developed over thousands of years.
Qasr Al Sarab itself is located within a 9000 square kilometre protected wildlife reserve, the largest of its kind in the UAE.
The reserve is home to several thousand free-roaming indigenous Arabian animals. Many of the animals that have been released into the reserve were bred on Abu Dhabi’s Sir Bani Yas Island, a large breeding and conservation reserve designed to protect some of the most endangered species on the Arabian Peninsula.
Visitors staying in Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara may see many free-roaming animals, and they graze very close to the resort on a daily basis.
