Listening to the locals of Liwa, who have learned from their fathers´ experiences as well as their own, you can begin to understand the allure of, and their love for, the vast and harsh landscape.  

The power of nature sculpts the sands, creating the dunes’ intricate formations.  

Linear dunes are locally known as ‘Seif’; Arabic for sword. They can soar to a height of 90m, and stretch a 100km into the desert.
