Arabian (Mountain) Gazelle

Arabian Mountain Gazelle

These highly defensive gazelles move in packs of four or six, led by a dominant male who will continuously rub a wax-like substance from his eyes onto nearby rocks or flora to mark his territory.

Mountain Gazelles are more typically sighted on gravel plains and in the mountains of the Emirates, and less so along the very soft sandy areas of the Liwa desert. Terrain here is more suited to the sand gazelle, often spotted by the inquisitive eyes of guests from the resort.
